This acclaimed collaboration of the Mariposa Film Group on the experiences of 26 gay men and lesbians was first film to give homosexual men and women the chance to tell their stories about how their lives had been formed by sexual socialization, allowing them to recognize, value and share the pain of secrecy and internalized oppression.  It was made, in large part, with the financial support of the gay community, and by filmmakers who saw themselves as responsible to this community in telling a truth that hadn’t been told.
